Default Does an open header help?

Would running an open header with a long tube give a faster 1/4 mile time?

My experience with straight pipe was that you will lose torque in the low end and gain horsepower in high end. So basically off the line power suffers probably due to lack of backpressure. Adding a muffler to the straight pipe resolved the power loss of the line.

If you size it right, probably. Like any exhaust on a relatively stock NA car, I doubt it would make a noticeable difference though.
