Demolition Derby

Anybody ever entered a derby before? What car did you use and how did you do? If I could ever find a junked out Sonata or Elantra, I would turn it into a derby car and see how it does. Probably not well since most derby cars are all steel and metal. A plastic import would probably fall apart after the first hit.

Well, it would be fun to watch anyway. From outside.

the best derby cars are things like X3s and geos etc. ALl the heavier cars tend to get bogged after a short while.

All you are really worried about is protecting the radiator. It doesn't matter if the body gets a bit beaten up :)

The best derby cars are giant behemoths from the 60's with body on frame construction. I would hate to see what they would do to an X3.

I actually do run derbies, I have ran a 91 Mazda 626 then a couple 80s model ford crown vics/ grand marquis.
