Default Burnout at the track

Question… whats the proper time length for doing a burnout before you’re ready to go, at the track? I don’t want my tires to get greasy and cause me to lose traction. So is there a proper time limit to doing it? And should a burn out be done each time you do a run or is one time sufficient?

Don't do a burnout on street tires, it will just glaze the rubber and get water in your fenderwell.

Yeah...I was wondering about slicks. I know to never do burnouts on streets.

On street tires , I drive around the water, then just spin the tires maybe 3 rotations to get rid of rocks and debris, .on slicks, I found I f I do a long burnout(mostly for show) I have less traction?..I would suggest 4 sec for decent traction...
