Who has else thinks this is ridiculous? Its the #1 video gaming app that everyone is going crazy over now. 
I dont even know anything about Pokemon so maybe that's why I think it's dumb. Or maybe because I would rather play PS4 or Xbox instead of walking around with my phone trying to catch anime characters.

There are seriously so many people playing that here. There were over a dozen groups of people playing at a park I went to yesterday.
It's made by Niantic, the same people that made Ingress. I've played Ingress on and off for years. It's a similar concept only totally different vibe. I'm watching the people frolicking around catching Pokemon while I am strategically trying to destroy resonators as a covert operative and capture the nearby portals for my faction without being spotted. For two augmented reality games with so much in common they couldn't play much differently.

Couple of things are happening here....
1. People are getting hurt because they are staring at their phones as they walk in traffic and are getting hit by cars, or they are walking into poles and ditches
2. It's literally like a zombie apocalypse because people are so into their phones and staring at them every waking minute of their day. It's really sad.
Any and all social skills that could be developed with society, have pretty much gone right out the window with this app.

I just can't believe anyone has time to play such ridiculous games. And I know there's additional time spent facebooking and here on top of it. There was a time as a kid that I played a few games, but for the most part I was playing sports, learning an instrument, camping, and later going to college. Games are a waste of time, period. Time to grow up already.
