Wiping Hard Drive?

i have windows 2000 and i want to wipe my hd clean so i can install windows xp. does anyone know how to do that with out buying software??

Yeah, it's easy.

Make a boot disk, so you can boot to a C Prompt. Then type "Format C:" without the "'s and hit Enter.

that would work, or when you install xp, boot with the cd and choose to delete the partition and make another. it will format it automagically. you have to hit d to delete the partition and, iirc, 'L' to confirm, then make another one using all remaining hard drive space.
