What "return" ?

I invest my money and pay the Government out of interest.

It's not a car or a credit card, overpaying the government yields zero return on investment.

 

I get a refund because the tools I buy for work are deductible and I have high medical expenses, which are also deductible. I'm not willing to "guess" how much that will be and risk having a big bill. The $20 I'd make in interested from investing the amount I get as a refund isn't worth the risk.
