Hello everyone, been away for a while but I think I'll be coming around more often.
I drive a Corvette and my wife drives a Camaro SS. I also own a 69 Camaro 502, 500 horse (my grandpa left it to me, he had it built with a 502 crate motor and DIDN'T PUT A POSI REAR END ON IT!!!!! Every time I step on it a tire breaks loose and damn near vaporizes) that I recently inherited. I can't speak for everyone else, but the reason I drive like a grandpa is simple.......safety. I'm just trying to get from point a to point b and live to see another day. I commute to work, I spend about 1.5 hours everyday on I-5. Several times a week some idiot nearly takes me out driving like an a-hole.
I do enjoy the acceleration though and do step on it a lot, just not in everday traffic. You gotta understand, people who drive these cars get revved at by just about every single car out there at every single stop light, stop sign, 4-lane road or parking lot. It gets very annoying......you learn to tune it out.
It's great to have the power. Merging is MUCH easier.....you can pick your spot ahead of you instead of looking back to merge. You can accelerate out of trouble if needed and passing on a 2 lane road is, let's say......brief.

i agree.
in 2k7, i'm pretty sure i'll be able to afford it, but i'm gonna get the new Shelby Cobra GT 500 Mustang
its pretty much a car that i've wanted since i heard it was comming out.

i also want to add that some ppl buy these powerful cars because they have too much money and have it to burn. its a bragging right type of thing. and thats annoying yup.gif
Is it annoying because you're jealous? You wouldn't buy an expensive ride if you had the money, be it an expensive stock car or a tricked out Tiburon, or whatever?? I find that difficult to believe.
I don't say this to be facetious either, I get this attitude a lot because of my car and it's really not warranted so I'd like to see someone elses' point.
I can tell you this.. when I had my Porsche... I got the finger.. A LOT! People evidently thought I was some sort of rich kid.. not realising that I was driving a 20 year old car that I only spent 5 grand on..
