Remember Colin McRae
I can't believe it. One of my favorite drivers who also competed in the ESPN X-Games Rally USA, has been killed with his 5 year old son. I would like to take this time to remember a wonderful man. His younger brother was the head driver and was about to win 1st for Hyundai Formula 2 in 1999 and also drove the Accent WRC's from 2000-2001.
Colin McRae 1968-2007.

Have just got off the phone with a friend of mine in the U.K. it is confirmed that Colin and his son both died in the crash.
He was piloting a Eurocopter AS350B2 Squirrel that was registered to him.
The world of Motorsport has lost one of its greatest heroes, he will be missed greatly. I wish to extend my condolences and sympathies to the rest of his family.

I heard this while watching the F1 race on Sunday morning and was very saddened by the news. He was my favourite WRC driver.
RIP Colin.
RIP Colin.
Same here.
This is so sad... he was a very charismatic pilot, and as you said he will be missed.
I heard about it when Juha Kankkunen made coments to the press about it, I had not heard about the accident from other sources prior to that.
PS. Former Champion Juha Kankkunen is here in Peru racing in the "Caminos del Inca" (Roads of the Incas) as a special guest; Caminos del Inca is one of the few races still organized in the old fashion way, they race very long primes, some of them hundreds of kilometers joining the main cities of central/south Peru.
