Default REDZMAN Update... 8*)

Well, I know I've not been around much lately, but all you oldies and die hards know why...

Here's a brief...

I'm in the US Army and in July got shipped off to Camp Casey in South Korea. I love it here BTW, this country kicks arse... Annnnyyyyyyways, when my personal goods arrived (My computer and such), one of my boxes got dropped down a flight of stairs. Upon opening the boxes, the following were totaled...

1. 17" Color Monitor
2. Joystick
3. USB Hub
4. Spare motherboard (Building wifes computer)
5. CPU Fan (Shattered)
6. Boston Acoustic Speakers
7. Some disks, cases, ect...

Well, I filed my claim and for some reason the claims office took 3 months to pay me. I got $1090.00. My monitor and everything but the Motherboard & Fan and Joystick have been replaced, so now I'm hooking up my computer (This is being typed from a work computer), but...

I can't seem to find anyone up here that can help me get internet service. Hopefully, I'll get it before the next 4 day weekend.

The food here is GREAT, the people are mucho nicer than the last time I was here (Only 5% of the riots and demostrations that I saw last time, and much nicer at it), and this time I shipped my wife here too, so it definately kicks arse.

All of the last minute photos of my Tib and my mods to it (Mostly Visual and Rice mods), not to mention the pics of all the stuff over here that I've taken (yup, bunches of body kitted tibs and elantras and such) will be posted ASAP.

Until I get to get online whenever I want however, please PM me if you want me to respond to a topic or if you need anything DIRECT from Korea. I'll do my best to keep up with ya'll.

PM's are not allowed. 99% of the forum memebers seem to enjoy having bad/invalid/out of date Email addresses, so they never got the PM notifications, or they just never read them or responded/deleted them.

PM's were about 40% of the old servers disk usage.

If you want to get ahold of someone, grab their email addy out of their profile and email them.

Yeah, Cable and DSL is ALL over and it's rather cheap. Like $20 for 384K DSL. I think...

The cellphone system over here is the best I've ever seen. It's all prepaid and it just kicks *** . We need this system in the US. EVERYWHERE. I've not been ANYWHERE yet, and I even mean combat bunkers here where I can't talk on my phone. And cheap? Hells yeah!

I second that first part Random. I for one used the PM function quite a bit. Maybe the Default for a user should have the PM's off?

As for Body kits, there are quite a few here for the first gen, even this one that has new door panels that look like they are twisted. Random has pictures of the other ones that I've seen and have access to over here. VERY nice in most cases.

REDZMAN, if you are on Camp Casey go over to the phone company, if I remember correctly they are over at the "Turttle Farm". They can hook you up with internet. But, once again if I remember correctly, it's dial-up (56k).(I used to be in 302d up on the hill). If you get a chance stop by the "Silver Star" down range and check it out. If anyone gives you any trouble in there tell them that "Eve's Boy" sent you there.

Wooooohhha! LOL Silver Star? Thanks man, I HAVE been over here for about 4 months now (This time, was here in 95'), so I've been around a bit. I've got my wonderful wife here with me this time also, and she loves it. We live off post (I'm not sure when you left but if you bring your wife over here now you get a permanant pass and permission to live off post, not to mention getting your Seperate Rations back). Trying to find internet service off post isn't too hard, it's just trying to find someone that knows how to talk Hongul and knows the technical gibberish behind computers is hard. Hopefully though, this week.

Good news is as of April they will have cable internet, premium digital cable, and cable phones in the barracks for $57 a month.
