FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: European premiere of Subaru Impreza STi

Subaru has announced details for the new Impreza Turbo 4WD WRX STi at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This new vehicle is fitted with a four-cylinder 2.0 liter turbo engine producing 195 kW/265 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 343 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, mated to a new six-speed manual
transmission. At the Motor Show, Subaru will also present a special version of the Impreza: WRX STi Prodrive.

Standard features include: permanent four-wheel drive, ABS with EBD, sport seats, alcantara upholstery, an alloy gear knob and driver and passenger airbags. The Impreza will go on sale in January 2002.
