I just saw this on AutoBlog. Apparently Oregon is trying to pass a bill that would prohibit the sale of all aftermarket parts including tires which would be based on rolling resistance.

I guess I can understand if they want to regulate emissions more but come on tires?!?!? Really?!?!

Retarded indeed. If this passes then I feel very sorry for anyone there.

wait until every pissed off lumberjack in that area with a big truck and mudder tires that they need to get in the back woods to make there money goes off cause they can't buy anything but OEM tires for their F-250's.

So you can no longer go to NAPA to buy tires? You have to go to the dealer and pay 2x the price for shit? Politicians have too much time on their hands.

Won't pass. Call and make your voice heard if you live there, if not, you deserve what you get.

It only won't pass IF the people in the State get the word out. AND they flood the lawmakers with phone calls, letters, and e-mails.

Otherwise, how will they know this is a bad idea? mad.gif

Most of them won't, but the auto parts stores sure as hell will.

You think Pep Boys, Napa, Autozone, Checker, or any of them will just let it go by without doing something?

Hell, the Magnusson Moss Act of 1974 should be enough to have that stopped. It gives you the right to do your own work on the car and not have your warranty cancelled because of it. It also allows you to use industry standard stuff, like oils, ect.
