Hey all, I recently won a 2000 tiburon in a car auction. It's red, and a 5 speed (my first car was an auto). It only has 57000 miles, and we got it for $2500. It only has like one small dent in the fender, which can be easily fixed. But it's not actually here at my house, it's sitting at my brother's bodyshop until it gets towed to the Hyundai dealer to get the cracked head gasket fixed. And since we got hit by a big snowstorm Sunday, it might be almost a week or so before I actually get to look and drive it. Anyways, I hope I can learn alot here. =)

Wholey crap!

Cracked head gasket!?!??

I think that's the first time I've EVER heard of that on a Beta. The gasket is one of the strongest points on tht engine. WTF did someone do to that sucka? There's guys in Korea running 600 HP or more on the stock gasket.

LOL

Hydrolock you guys think?

Anyways man, welcome to the forum here man. Please live by the rules and do a search when you have some questions, you may find it's allready been asked and answered.

BTW, where are you at?

Heh, the car is in really good condition, and I have no idea why the gasket is cracked, but from what I saw of the car (I only got to see it for like 5 mins at nighttime) it is very nice. The interior is perfect, although the guy who owned it before left some wrappers and stuff laying around. Also he literally ripped off the spoiler when they came to REPO it. So I have to get a new one of them. Anyone have any suggestions for a spoiler? I was thinking maybe the eclipse style spoiler.. but for right now I'm just going to get the stock one put back on so I can get it sooner. =p

And I live in Virginia.

Actually, I do have an idea.

Buy my stock spoiler.

LOL

No, really, put the Type R on there, looks (and actually is) OEM.

welcome.. I suggest the Veilside wing and body kit wink.gif but that's paying more for the body kit than you paid for the car.

Just so you know, Hyundai roadside assistance should tow your car for free... but I'm not sure if that carries over to a new owner or not. Check it out.
Congrats on your new car. Would head gasket be covered under warranty?
