Hi guys!
I was a little hesitent to post something like this in a Tiburon forum, but I thought that someone else could also benefit from the music software that I've been writing.

http://www.DigiJ.net

Ok, to start, I’m a DJ. I love music and electronics so what could be better than a small business that pays for its own toys (and toys for the Eclipse)! When I started compiling an extensive set of “DJ Tools” CDs from unsorted single tracks in my collection, I found that locating music was REALLY hard. [On a side note, I am also a software engineer by day] I auditioned many DJ software packages but nothing met my needs, not even the EXPENSIVE packages such as PC DJ or Virtual DJ. The solution? “If you want it done right, do it yourself.”

** If you are also a DJ or have a monster MP3 collection (or any other music file library) and would like a much better way of organizing, accessing and playing your tunes … read on!

A few years and many sleepless nights later, “DigiJ Pro” was born. I’ve been using my software creation ever since and it has made spinning SO MUCH EASIER! I’ve showed it to my friends, and they have even started using it to build smart play lists for house parties and even for listening at work. I originally intended the software to be for DJs, but many people used it for other things so I put in a lot of support for people that just wanted software to support their extensive music collections. Whether you have CDs, Vinyl, or MP3s, this software helps tremendously. I mean come on… who doesn’t have like 50 MP3 CDs lying around but never listened to because you don’t know what track is on what disc! Or how many times did you know you had a song but couldn’t remember the artist’s name, entire title, or where you put it? Find it right away with DigiJ. DJs – how many times have you been playing at a gig, been distracted by somebody asking you questions, and glanced down at your gear only to find 20 seconds left on the playing track and nothing in disc tray 2? You need a song immediately!

** You’ve read this far, why stop now! What makes DigiJ different and powerful? Read on.

DigiJ lets you search for text in ANY part of multiple fields. In addition it lets you completely organize your music library by assigning multiple customizable genres and customizable attributes to any track. TOO EASY! For example if you’re playing at a club and the dance floor’s packed you probably don’t want to break the party’s momentum, so you need your best stuff. If you’re playing techno but only want to see your very best tracks, you might run a search with the ‘techno’ Genre selected AND ‘heavy rotation’ Attribute checked. You can select from this list or further constrain your search within this set of results. The bottom line? DigiJ helps you make better musical decisions at gigs!

** Not a DJ, what else does DigiJ do?

Let’s face it, many of us don’t play music for other people – we play it for ourselves. Why not have the power that performing DJs need at YOUR fingertips to make killer play lists? DigiJ’s “Gig Designer” tool helps you break down your day into segments and allows you to assign multiple genres per segment. Maybe you’re the type of person that needs softer music in the morning, prefers something with a little punch in the middle of the day, and then something heavy and hard at the end of it? Just tell DigiJ what you like and it will make it happen.

DigiJ is also fully integrated with Winamp, and even expands its functionality. Just as one example, while Winamp is playing tracks from your DigiJ playlist, DigiJ is keeping track of songs that have already been played. If you are shuffling your playlist and add another track to it, you run the risk of re-playing something in the list. A touch of a button in DigiJ can remove all these items from Winamp, but leaving them in the original playlist. There are so many other Winamp expanding features available!

** This thing’s gotten long enough – thanks for reading!

So there you have it. I hope you’ll try out DigiJ! I really think you’ll like and use it – it’s made playing music so much easier and more enjoyable for me. Why not try it out for free! Play your music in a whole new way!

It's good stuff, I can vouch for that. It still blows my mind that he can program something like this!

Interesting. Since I produce and spin alot....I'll have to see how well I can break this software. wink1.gif

I generally stick with the professional titles (for the joby-job), so it'll be interesting to see how this measures up. smile.gif

Haha let her rip Visionz!
I'd be really interested in your feedback, both positive and negative. Remember - I use this software when I DJ. If nothing else, help me make a better software product for myself! LOL laugh.gif

If you do run into any problems, there is a bug report forum on www.digij.net.

Thanks for your feedback!

Ack!

Thank you to everyone who visited www.DigiJ.net! Your response has been so overwhelming that my web service hit its bandwidth limitation, and the site is currently down. I'm scrambling to re-host the instillation file on SourceForge.net… I’ll post the link AS SOON as it’s ready. Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate your support!!

-Mike

Ok, the installation file is now hosted at http://mediamax.streamload.com/miked...sted/DigiJ.msi

I'm working at getting the website up and running again, and doing some reconfiguring so that this won't happen again.

Thank you so much for your patients!

Digij.net is finally back up and running! My web hosting company originally fed me a line about my bandwidth limitation being exceded, but it actually turned out to be a server problem on their side. Perfect timing right? ... I post this topic and the sight goes down. Oh well, it's back online! Now maybe I can get away from my laptop and get back under my hood. wink1.gif
