OK I wasent sure to put this here or WTB but what ever...

My birthday is coming up and my girlfriend likes me to pick out my gifts so shes knows I will like them, she set a 200 dollar limit.

I was thinking about a Escort 8500 radar detector OR

The Sirius starmate sat. radio

I can pick each under 200 dollars in the right places or should I get a cheaper radar detector and try and get them both?

Ideas on a cheaper detector?

I am going to college in the fall and a 3 hour drive back home to see her like every other weekend, so I will be spending ALOT of time in the car.


If anyone has those 2 things and want to get them off your hands im all ears, or anything related to radars.

I really need to help with this because I have been on here for like 2 hours searching for all the radars you guys like and one comes up above all but if I get that no music(((FORGOT TO ADD, I shaved my antenna on the tib so I guess the sirius is a must)))

i would go with the sirius mang i have a s2(same thing but wireless) and have come to the realization that its only good for road trips

if your radar detector goes off he already knows how fast your goin before you even hit the brakes

 

No with the radar dectector you know when he hit others too. I think they are def worth it. Of course it wont help if you're the only one on the road, but I would get one ASAP.

 

A good radar detector will let you know of any cops at least a half a mile beforehand. If you hear it going off, slow your ass down. tongue.gif I bought an Escort radar detector from someone here and it works great. Id say get that one or a radar detector from Belltronics? (i believe) Those are both the best.

If not the radar, Id def. go for the sirius radio. I even want that in my car lol.

 

well so far everyone likes the sirius idea, but the radar is up in the air.

Anyone else know a good radar thats not an escort 8500 for 300 dollars.

I was thinking about a Viper security system but the guy at my local shop said the acuator is like 80 bucks a piece. Dont really understand what hes talking about. I will be going to college in the fall which is close to the 2 of the largest citys in North Carolina. But everything I have searched on here is saying if you cant get the 2-way there is no point and I cant pay 300-400 dollars plus that acuator thing.

Any Help?
