Sad. It'll be interesting to get more details though about the shooter.

tl;dr: literally escaped-from-a-mental-hospital crazy person with a history of violence, who was not legally able to buy a gun...the government failed to do its paperwork properly and he was allowed to buy a gun...was on increasingly hostile terms with his mother in law, and went and shot up the church where she would sometimes attend. A neighbor who is a firearms instructor with the NRA responded to the noise of firing with his personal firearm and shot the crazy shooterguy, who dropped his gun and ran like a little b*tch at the first sign of return fire. Responding citizen hailed a passing pickup and they chased the crazy shooterguy until he ran off the road and shot himself.

The guy was crazy, very crazy. And even gun activists are mad as hell about him owning a gun. I hope they figure out who dropped the ball on that one and it becomes a bi-partisan resolution.
