Marriage is a bit of a joke now a days

I did a wedding back the last weekend of August for a couple who seemed so totally into each other and in love. They just got back from their honeymoon last week also. Just found out this morning that the groom caught his wife cheating not the first time, but second. Since it's only been a couple of months, he's getting an annulment. I think he stayed with her after the first time because they have a young kid together and he wanted to try and make things work for their daughters sake. Guess you can only do so much until you realize that nothing you do will change the fact that your wife is a whore. lol

Still though...they were good people. I wish them a lot of luck and happiness in what ever path they take in life. She'll probably learn to regret her decisions one day when they're old and gray unless she has no conscience or heart. But then again, if she managed to think it was ok to cheat on her 2 month old husband twice then maybe she is just a cold hearted b*tch with no conscience.

This isnt the first time I've heard this situation happening with couples. Just seems like so many people these days dont take marriage seriously and figure it's just a piece of paper with no meaning. Maybe some people think differently but the more and more I see or hear of these occurrences, the more I realize that weddings and marriages are just a joke.

You just have to pick the right one, and then take the promise seriously. Sadly, society is broken enough that this is not trained into the children anymore.

I was in marriage for 14 years… my wife cheated me 3 times (that I know) and after third time I decided that it is enough. We have 3 kids, oldest wanted to stay with me, little girls (3 and 1,5 years) are with her.

I don’t know… maybe there is something in the food but from my 10 friends that have divorced in 8 cases girls/wife’s made a problem.

Our society has become extremely self centered, selfish, and entitled. We're all entitled to a princess and/or a prince charming because since we were children everything has said we are. I've never met either, but everyone expects it. Goofy unpopular guy saves the day, automatically gets the girl of his dreams. Goofy unpopular girl gets a makeover, everyone loves her, and she takes the head of the football team to prom and lives happily ever after. It's basically the way all of our stories go whether in print, TV, or in movies. Our whole lives we've seen that life owes you exactly one sexy woman or successful handsome man, you just have to wait for it. Life doesn't owe you anything. Life doesn't even generally give you a fair return on the effort you put in anymore because you're not perfect and the majority of people expect near perfection.

Another common problem that I've seen is a lot of people don't see marriage as a commitment that you both make to work together. It's more that they see it as the other person being stuck with them no matter what they do.
