some how i dont think this kid could get 208 on the street. what would you need 900hp suspension, bodywork, and several strait smooth miles to keep it on the road at that speed.

I get that he was moving fast, but 208 in a 5.0 Mustang seems pretty unlikely. Granted he could have had a LOT of work done to it, but he's 19 so I doubt he had a ~900hp 5.0.
It would make more sense if the Speed gun was reading kph instead of mph, Officer probably had it on the wrong setting lol
208kph is roughly 129mph which seems a lot more likely
If he was, in fact, going 208 ya gotta give the kid props lol doubt many others would have had the balls to get it up to that speed and turn the lights off occasionally to try to get away from the cops.

A Bugatti is around 1200 hp, and it uses all of that plus some real genius aero engineering to allow it to go over 200. I call shenanigans on this kid doing 208 in a Mustang.

Raw horsepower has little to do with top speed aside from overcoming drag. Lets science this out:
a 2016 mustang GT with top of the line equipment can be outfitted with a 0.651 6th gear and 3.73 final. Add these values to the stock tire size 310/30/19 and the coyote stock 6500 RPM, that's good rotationally for near as it matters 210mph.
Even the GT350R boasts a top speed of 190 in it's form. So it's not difficult to see 208 from that package with the right equipment and lack of common sense.
