Deputy suspended over botched fast food order
A Polk County deputy was so upset at a botched cheeseburger order at Burger King that he was suspended, TheLedger.com reports.
Deputy Jason Platt, 31, demanded to see Burger King workers’ drivers’ licenses and tried to get a Lakeland cop, a personal friend, involved in the dispute over his wife’s order. (The friend refused.)
“I find it disturbing that a deputy sheriff would tarnish the image of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office by getting involved in a dispute over a cheeseburger order at Burger King,” a sheriff’s captain wrote in a memo included in the investigation report.
