I don't know why I picked mine. I kinda like the leaving the vowels out look kinda like a good custom license plate. Even though it wouldn't fit on one it still describes the car. I guess the name speaks for itself.

Default Handle stories

So what's the reason / story everyone picked the names they have here, or in general on-line? Just curious to know.

I picked my name from the main antagonist in Othello. It kinda served as a nice double-duty in my chat-room days as a nice stupid-people-filter. If anyone asked me if I picked my handle after the bird voiced by Gilbert Godfried in Disney's Aladdin, I knew I had a real winner on my hands. rolleyes.gif The "NT" in my AOL handle means nothing. When I set up my account, Iago on it's own was taken, so I had to tack something onto the end to make it unique. I picked "NT" because of the OS I was using at the time. Lame lame dork. I know.

There's no major reason why I liked Iago in Othello so much. I'm not a particularly mean or manipulative person...but I've gotta say, the character had his plan. He had everyone stringing along, secretly pitted against one another but pretending to be best of friends. Amazingly calculated.

I'm orginal handle was guiltybydesign which I came up with after hearing it in a song. I liked it and it just kind of stuck. I shorted it to guilty b/c most people just put guilty instead of guiltybydesign we referring to me in a post.

Mine sort long, so bear with me.

A friend and I were reading Sci-Fi/Fantasy book series. The series had some wacked out names for the characters, but the one that just blew my mind was "Random". So the friend and I got into a "debate" on the subject of "Random" as a name of a person. I tried to tell him that "random" was a description of an event, not a "person". A person's actions can be "random" but a person cannot BE "Random".

In the end, he decided that the name fit me. Not because I was like the character in the book, but because of the "definition" of the word, (that and I think he did it to piss me off). After that...everyone at college started calling me "Random", and it sort of stuck ever since.

To this day, I use "Random" rather than my regular common name when making dinner reservations and such...becuase they can never pronouce my last name, and my first name is too common...but when they call out "Random"...I know it's time to eat! wink.gif

Max_Kool is the main character of a book called "Head Crash", about a terribly dorky loser, who, when online (Max_Kool is his nick.), is the coolest, baddest, mofo around.

My friends gave me the handle Phantom-knight because I'm more a person that stays back and listens than actually getting right into the conversation on internet type things. The knight I guess was because I am a very nice guy to be around, I guess That's what they said. I shortened to Phantom for the same reasons Guilty did, Phantom-knight was to long. That's it

Mine is due to the fact I was watching this show on Discovery about this little animal called the Chupacabras.. http://kingkongvsgodzilla.com/chupa/pictures.html People thought it was kinda wierd that I had found such a screwed up creature, and Chupi just looked stupid.. Originally is was Mr.Choopi-Cabras, but it doesn't flow.. wink.gif There.. Now you know the history of the Ch00pi.. wink.gif

Mine's longer than Random's...

Mine is a hybrid... I've always been cthonian, borrowed from the less-evolved ancestors of the elder god Cthulhu from HP Lovecraft novels. The majin part is relatively new, meaning "demon" or "possessed," brought to my attention by Dragonball, but I thought it was just a cool word besides. Even my wife says I'm evil, one of her sisters calls me satan (more from South Park, than the actual guy downstairs), so I guess it fits. Plus, CTHONIAN fits on a license plate in NY, and I can easily get MAJIN engraved on the top of a custom plate frame (and my TSR # once I get it, on the bottom!!!) eek.gif tongue.gif
