Do you notice less drive in recent college grads?
Seems like they just want to come in and do the minimum to get by and expect to make 55-60k+ with no real experience. I remember being excited to get out of school and start working and try to learn as much as I could in various trades. Maybe its me getting older (I'm 26), maybe its the industry I work in (engineering) I don't know but I just don't see that drive to succeed with most of them. Anyone else notice this?

Just tonight I was talking to a my-dad's-age guy who was recently hired on the spot when he went to get a job, and he said the company owner gave up on hiring young 20's age applicants for this very reason.
I'm 27 and also working as an Engineer. I have had 3 interns and the current one is worthless. He keeps trying to argue with the engineers what a "real" engineer should do. We have seen this problem in a bit of our other interns too. It is really annoying.
But most of us went to the same college and I remember being told that we should be expecting to make 50k and only work 40 hours a week.

The problem is kids get everything handed to them or done for them today. They are LAZY! Not like when I was growing up. I had to walk 10 miles to school in the snow uphill BOTH ways everyday!
