And with statistics, I can show that lower speed zones have absolutley NO impact on safety. As usual, people in power have no clue about real problems or real solutions.
The real problem is NOT speed, its INCOMPETENT drivers exceeding their abilities and that of their vehicle.

I wonder how many times people side swipe each other or tailgaters rear-end people before the cops realize that bunching up traffic behind them is a *horrible* idea... not to mention road rage increases, trouble merging on to the interstate, emergency vehicle tieups, etc.
