I need a 120mm fan. The ones at the local stores (Compusa) are only 39-79cfm. I could hardly feel the air coming from it.
I found one online, a Delta, that flowed 220cfm!!!

But the question is, will it be obnoxiously loud? It says 65db.

Can't be any louder than the cooling fan for the chip on my p3. It is a "Dragon Orb" and it sounds like a jet engine.. thankfully my case muffles it down a lot.

They only have the shitty little "tricolor fans" that put out like 40cfm. There was only one that was like 80cfm or so.

So is it too loud for you? I plan to have it in the case, and the case is in a cabinet. That's not really a good thing for heat, but that's just the way my desk was designed.

that dragon orb is a thermaltake cooler, it's in the 40's dba.

I've got this on in my store. http://highpcs.com/store/product_info.php?...59349b06e1c36a8

really 80 cfm is alot for a pc, your not going to need anymore. I try to keep all my fans in the sub 40 area. my media center pc fans have to me in the sub 20 dba category though. I wouldn't even consider any fan over 50 dba for a pc, too loud.

holy crap I've built some loud servers though! thats where you'd use that fan, is some server with about 5 harddrives where noise isn't an issue.
