Im part of a couple of gamer groups in school and we're planning on doing some charity work this year. Wondered how many people here do it or volunteer for stuff in their free time. smile.gif

Being military I'm obligated to do volenteer work whenever it's needed. Sometimes it's cool like helping out with the Little League or reading to little kids at schools. Sometimes it's dumb like holding a flag for an event.
Every year our company runs a huge United Way campaign. The largest in Tennessee. We are given one day off from work to support one of three chosen charities. I've volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club and Operation Stand Down (assists homeless vets). I've also assisted with Habitat for Humanity twice, and I enjoy it the most. I enjoy physical labor and don't get much since I work in an office. Habitat for Humanity is the most personally rewarding for myself, and you work alongside the people for whom you're building the home. You get to hear their story and struggles and it becomes personal; you can see their excitement first hand and you see how much you are affecting their life.
