Default Any thoughts on Ruger's SR1911?

Went to a new gun shop here and they had one in the case. I'm looking to get a full-size .45 so I was interested. They had it for $689. Seems like a good gun. Felt good in my hand and all the controls were silky smooth. The trigger seemed really nice too.

I've shot Rugers before, excellent weapons!

Rugers are good and that's a good price for a 1911. Does it come with any manufacturer warranty?

Lately I haven't been letting good gun deals pass me up. I say go for it.

No, it's a silly price for a 1911 that is much good. I would expect it to be loose, maybe not as accurate as could be, but I would expect it to shoot whatever you put in it, coming from Ruger. A $700 1911 is better than none, but I would definitely read up on reviews and gun forum threads before dropping $700 on it.

^ true dat lol

And if your looking for something full size .45 assuming you don't already have one, I wouldn't suggest a 1911. You can find something with a higher mag cap and less maintenance for that price.

But if u already have a high cap handgun, it checks out, and u just want something pretty go for it.

On the contrary, if you are willing to train with it, the 1911 is a weapons platform for experts - which newbies can get proficient with after some work. Capacity has a LOT going for it, and there is reliability to be found in double-capacity plastic guns, but 1911 is t3h win.
