990whp on low boost
well we completed another one of our monster turbo mustang coupes today and it is off to atlanta for the fun ford weekend race.
we completed the motor build last night and strapped it all in today. first pass on the rollers it pushed out 790whp with basic fuel maps.
with less that 20 minutes of tuning we pushed it to 990whp at 12psi.
when it gets to atlanta we will fine tune it on the lap top but with the power it is making now, it should run low 8's. with a little fine tuning and praying for traction we should be able to drop into high 7's.
this may not sound like much but we are racing in the drag radial class and with as much power as we are turning, drag radials actually suck. strap some slicks to this baby and we are talking low 7's.

sorry for being so slow. atlanta was crappy. the torque converter was too tight, we ran a 10.20 at 164mph. the car didnt let loose until the 1/8th mile mark. it looked like a cartoon, it was real slow off the line and then all the sudden it shot out like a rocket.
as the cayote always said, back to the drawing board. we will be ready for huston in a few weeks.
as for the amount of money into the car, the engine alone was 20 grand. i think all in all is about 60 grand.
we are testing this weekend at bithlo, we rented the track and got a new converter so we should be in the mid 7's i hope.
