Zex Nitrous kit

I just wanted to know about the kit, is the purge kit required to run the set up? Or can the basic kit sold by SR be used without it?

JAWS 021 07-17-2002 04:42 PM

yup
you dont need a purge kit
i actually think the purge kit is more rice than actual race
not that its a bad thing
i enjoyed looking at the faces of rice boys especially after getting reved.... SSSSSPt..... [oh **** expression]
you will do fine with the basic kit

Jaws I don't think the purge kits are *Rice*. But they only allow you improve a 1/4 time by about a tenth or so. The purge allows the evaporated nitrous out of the lines so you have a more powerfull first shot of spray. Now if we were spraying more than maybe a 100 shot then the purge would really be helpful and take nearly 2-3 tenths off a 1/4 time. smile.gif

well this is the way i look at it

if your running a 75+
do you really want an instant 75HP increase within a sec?
No...
why?
Shocking the engine... this is one of the drawbacks of having a nitrous system that is not controlled by a progressive setup.
I enjoy the gradual rise in horsepower
of course it really doesnt make that much of a difference,.... but it helps
By the way... ive tested it at the track and i have not noticed a difference. MY fastest time ever.... was without a purge kit. Thats another reason why i got rid of it.

I think the purge is rice,.... but hey i liked it, i also like my underglow neons, and my rice scoop, and my chrome rims, an.....dam random was right, i am a rice boy
LMAO!

I love my kit. Running a 65 shot. Unfortunately, with the small bottle, you begin to notice the pressure drop too soon...say after about 4 runs. I don't think a purge kit is necessary, but you might want to invest in a bottle warmer. It should keep the pressure fairly consistent. Other than that, a pressure guage might be a good idea as well.

if you live in a warm area... the battle warmer is not needed...
I hardly noticed a difference with my ZEX bottle warmer

i here the NOS ones are better... but oh well

I let the warm LA sun heat up my bottle
