Zex Nitrous

Ok so I am having trouble understanding this.. The switch isn't to make it inject the NOS, it's to arm the Bottle, and then the Electronic system waits till you are full throtle and it then injects when safe? Or am I wrong?
thanks,
Jeff

Correction, NOS is a company, you mean Nitrous, right? Because you just said Zex Nitrous, and if it's Zex then it ain't NOS. smile.gif

Another ?, can you have a turbo car and run a Nitrous system?

Stinger 07-30-2001 03:41 PM

Hyundai, I mean the Zex system.. do you know the answer to the first or second ?.. NOS is a company i know, but it is also kinda a universal term for Nitrous Oxide...

hyundai jvx 07-30-2001 04:11 PM

I don't know the answers, I just know NOS is the company, I know a lot of people say "Where's the kleenex?" and Kleenex is a company, but no matter what the brand is that's what people call it. Kind of wierd huh?

Yes, you can have forced induction and Nitrous.

From my understanding of the ZEX system you are correct the switch activates the system and the the electronic system activates the Nitrous when at full throttle. Brendan has this system so I would go with what he says.

nobodyuknow 07-31-2001 01:45 PM

This is correct about the arming switch. Its cool cause it feels like your arming a warhead. You flip the swith and the power is begging to be unleashed by your suddenly o so heavy toes!!! By the way I have one of these systems for sale if anyone is interested.

Stinger 07-31-2001 02:35 PM

how much?

Stinger 07-31-2001 02:38 PM

oh yeah, Thanks for the responses!

Decker 07-31-2001 04:07 PM

Yeah how mutch for the nitrous system. I'm interested!

To get a Nitrous system to work with a turbo, you would need a complete stand alone fuel management system, and/or it would have to be a "wet" setup, or you would need jumbo injectors!

"Wet" Nitrous setups add fuel in addition to the nitrous. 'Dry' setups just add nitrous.

If you were to go turbo...and get a Haltec, it would be capable of handling boost + nitrous...but...you would really only do that on a "drag" motor (motor that has the turbo near maxed out). Otherwise you could just turn up the boost PSI (and the corresponding increase in fuel) to add more HP.

$400. Full Zex kit. Only squeezed 3 shots on it. Still has a full tank of nitro.

Stinger 08-01-2001 02:57 PM

heh well full nitro bottle dont mean anything cuz ya cant ship it full.. 400 huh? hrmm i'll have to think about that..

nobodyuknow 08-01-2001 03:04 PM

The system cost me 575 shipped and I've bairly used it. Empty or full thats still over $100 off and I got it on sale.

KuBiX 08-01-2001 03:28 PM

Hey. ANyone know how much it costs to get one of these kits installed??

Stinger 08-02-2001 06:24 AM

Kub, I dunno, but I hear it's really easy(non-turbo) to install...
