Of course it's the nitrous right? Not a shitty exhaust or crappy driving habits?

I never said it was a cheap or crappy part.
Radu, you need to read my man.

I am reading, what does "shitty exhaust" in a thread about a ruined glasspack imply? nana.gif

I´m on N/A, and my trush glasspack looks EXACTLY the same. The color on the inlet side has changed from red to brown, and now its rattling like hell during a certain rpm range (between 1700 and 2000 rpm). The only modifications in my exhaust are a OBX header and i removed the cat.

I also ordered a cherry bomb glasspack now, hope it will last a little longer (hopefully forever!).

Best regards from hot Berlin, Germany (we currently have about 32 degrees celcius here, im melting away stretcher.gif !)

"NOOOOOOOZZZZZZZ!!!!" was from FNF1 yo, im lame and had to correct you. i shoot fuel out my muffler, but i guess my EGT isn't hot enough to ignite the fuel and kill my glass pack.

but heres a question, Redzman. if he was igniting the fuel that is i guess "soaked" into his glasspack and cat, wouldn't that shoot a backfire flame out the muffler? or at least give a hefty pop, so he would know it was?

my glass pack only pings after it gets hot and cools down, and i paid 25 bucks lol. im pro. SUMMIT brand FTW.

J3R0MY, I'd agree, you weren't hot enough to ignite it. Remember, fuel doesn't just EXPLODE when it is pooled or soaked, it burns. Go pour some fuel on the ground and ignite it, it burns, and burns, and burns. Now put some in a spray bottle and put it on MIST. Ignite THAT. Boom. (DO NOT DO THIS YOU DUMBASSES!)

LOL

If it can happen to your cat, it can happen to your glasspack. With how rich our vehicles run OEM, it's no wonder N/A folks are having problems. Remember, before I did my MS ECu I was running 10:1 A/F ratio, VERY rich, and had fuel drops spraying out my exhaust.

That he got a shitty exhaust.

If you red his thread about his exhaust, he got a over axle, press bent, 2.25 inch exhaust, and many commented on it.

Did the floor board fall out? tongue.gif

As stated, a glasspack is nothing more than a piece of pipe with fiberglass insulation to deaden sound. This has nothing to do with the quality of the glasspack, this has to do with your tuning. Honestly, I'm surprised your catalytic converter and o2 sensors have survived after seeing this.

I've had a thrush glasspack installed on my tib for probably like 9 months now, no issues whatsoever. God I love my exhaust, especially now with the new KFX headers... 2.5" from the header to the muffler, completely mandrel and stainless..mm

Why would you not have a wideband and run nitrous? Do you actually trust the guys at the local rice shop that much?..

^^ No I trust ZEX. It's tuned fuel pressure to nitrous pressure and it's calibrated by jets. This comes down to precicely the ammount of fuel is injected which is needed to run the nitrous. The only side effect I can expect is heat which is what happens when you run more oxygen and fuel in an engine. Noone has problems with the ZEX tuning methods.

I just swapped out the resonator (which replaced my Dynomax Thrush when it went bad) and stock 2nd catalytic converter with a 30 inch Cherry Bomb glasspack and a Magnaflow high flow Catalytic converter. It sounds good. I liked the sound of the Dynomax Thrush better. Cherry bomb should last longer under harsher conditions though.

The Dynomax Thrush was deeper. I think it was because of the fully corrigated tube. The Cherry Bomb is only 1/2 corrigated, but it looks to be better quality and it should handle the heat much better. The cherry bomb has a higher pitched sound then the Dynomax Thrush, but the exhaust sound is MUCH MUCH MUCH lower then with a resonator.

Bottom line, I can see why people recommend the Thrush. The 30" Dynomax Thrush will make your car sound more like a 6 cylindar and is a cheap brand. The cherry bomb sounds like a 4 cylindar.
