My dealings with Supertech continue.

I will post my engine modifications little later but two Nitrous options have come up:

They offered a wet kit as well as a direct injection.

Im a little confused between the two, and was hoping for an explaination.

Supertech reemphasizes that their tuned engine can take reasonable N2O shots repeatedly, so I'm going to believe them for now.

Im new to Nitrous, so advice will be v. useful

^ If tuned correctly, there is no reason why your engine should blow or anything.

My knowledge re: nitrous is very limited but it's my understanding that the wet kit would be the safest bet. With these you get the fuel jet coupled with the nitrous jet directly behind the fogger that squirts into the inlet tract. I'm pretty sure it'll allow for better tuning & ultimately a far mor reliable setup.

Good luck & let us know how it goes fing02.gif

No offense, but you should be asking them for details as to their options they are giving you.

"Direct port" nitrous injection should be "wet" (injecting both nitrous and fuel, directly at the port (or close in the intake manifold runner)).

A plain "wet" kit is just injecting Fuel and Nitrous before the throttle body. This means that your intake manifold plenum and runners are full of both air, fuel and Nitrous (okay if done properly, but also can lead to VERY LARGE backfires).

Given the choice, money being no object, Direct Port is the way to go. However, without knowing the real details as to what they are offering you and the costs involved (not to mention your finances), I can't reccomend the right setup for you.

what random said and yes, direct wet would be the safest and I wouldn't hessitate to shoot 100 extra hp on a low milage engine with a direct port kit.

I've used a direct port NX system. You can easily spray 80-100 shot, but just keep an eye on your plugs. Change them regularly and use NGK #BKR5E.
I had one tip break on me and chip a valve going out because I let them get old. They're cheap, so you might want to change them every oil change if possible.

Jon and Random have went over everything that you would need to know. Like Random said, we would need to know more about your situation to get into more details.

Wouldn't this be stock heat range? I'd use at least one range colder.

Woops, I got the ranges backwards. 5 is stock, 7 is 2 ranges colder. I was focussing on owning people in the army game. lmao.gif
