Can nitrous be detected if you remove it?
 

After a nitrous sytem has been removed from the car, is there any way a dealer tech can tell that it was installed?

If you take the time to replace the parts which require modification, no. The intake elbow and maybe the holes in your trunk from the mounting points may give it away. There is no residual nitrous left in the car though. It is a clean modification.

The fuel line cut and tee'd is a good indication

Just get a diffrent piece of fuel line, you can get it at any auto shop, and keep a spare, it would cost a wooping like 5 bucks to replace a foot of fuel line, it only comes from the fuel filter right to the fuel rail!

only one problem with your fix



the stock pressure fuel line is crimped IIRC, so its not like you can just reinstall a new one, i guess you could get another spare line from the yard, but no one thinks that far ahead when they have a problem



when i was working at nissan i caught a FEW people tryin to get away with nitrous setups, and yes, we do put it in the notes if we see it, even if your just coming in for an oil change



cut fuel lines, holes drilled into the trunk for the brackets(i used to keep a bracket in my desk to prove it was nitrous), and for some ODD reason, people tend to forget the actual switch when they bring it in for service :biggrin: , its like they dont wanna have to deal with rewiring it when they get the work done



one of the SMARTEST setups ive seen is they created a new spare tire lid out of plywood and had almost everything mounted to that(individual 1 gallon fuel cell and pump, solenoids, and the nitrous bottle) the wiring was ran through a harness along side a aftermarket amplifier and tapped into a aftermarket fog light setup so a tech would only see a fog light harness and amp wiring as the mods



then when play time was over, it was a simple pull of a couple spade connectors, undoing and pulling 2 stainless lines that were ran through the spare tire drain plug and hose clamped along side the frame to a modded CAI elbow(still ran the stock intake box, just had the injen elbow and swapped it when needed) and removing the WOT switch
