Can nitrous bottles be over filled?

Can nitrous bottles be over filled?

If so, what would happen since the bottles are under heavy pressure?

The blow off valve/blow off discs will leak/Burst venting out the nitrous.

If safety devices fail or ur using really old nos bottle then it is very dangerous to overfill.

NOS bottles are only filled to 80% capacity. The other 20% if for expansion of the gas when it gets hot. The tank has a built in relief valve that releases the extra pressure if it gets too high.
