We are in the process of bringing shifters online, with a twist, Redz is going to pre assemble them so they are tight and ready to go.

Yup. I'll have them pre assembled, some locktite on the threads at the primary pivot point, greased, and if the knobs are setup wrong, threaded all the way.

You'll have a better short shifter than the Ark, for way cheaper.

Ahh, the Megan/Importshark/now KFX shifter. wink1.gif It's a good one though.

man...i don't know about this relationship you got here. something about REDZ lubing my shifter and tightening my knobs gives me a weird feeling.

REDZMAN 04-05-2008 10:14 AM

Yeah, I love how smooth it is.

If I remember right, it's the only one with an actual bearing in that pivot too.

Caj, you need to get those KJB shifter base bushings and the cable bushings.

In my opinion, the best shifter setup you can do in our car now is...

1. KFX Shifter.
2. KJB Shifter Cable Bushings.
3. KJB Shifter Base Bushings

My shifting is so tight now, and Iwill be going from the ARK back to this one as the shifter block, if I remember right, is tighter.

After that, you've got a great setup, for cheaper than the ARK shifter ALONE.

Caj Darkmoon 04-05-2008 10:19 AM

Yeah, Ive got the IS and the KJB shifter base bushing's, which i'll be installing today when I swap out w/ the replacement parts.

Honestly though I'll tell you what made the biggest difference: swapping the knob on this shifter for a ball knob. Specifically I used the one off the Ark, but any ball knob that sits a little lower will make it feel a lot nicer on the shift. This knob sits high on the shifter.

REDZMAN 04-05-2008 10:25 AM

Yeah, that's something I'll be fixing, I noted it as a problem with them during the shootout.

I'm trying to see if we can get it with a different knob.

We'll see.

I really, REALLY, like my knob I got when SFR decided to send me my first package.

I've got the blue one.

I've been thinking about it, and I've just had to modify my ARK too much to get it where it is, and it's still got some play in it. SOme is from the shift block, some is from the OEM lower shift arm. Neither can I find a way to get rid of.

Ive got a stock GK knob in my RD2 which is like the SFR ones only black. I love that thing with my Rside
