Okay, I have forgotten to get this started for awhile, but now is better than never. I'm looking into the rattling of the engine dampers to see what can be done about it, it's not horrible, but sometimes, especially at very low traffic crawling speeds, it can be pretty annoying.
It's not a RD Tiburon damper issue, as all of these engine dampers are made the same, it's one of a few things.
1. Mounting bracket holes. The holes in the mounting brackets let the damper rattle in it when letting off of accleration. This is possible, and i don't know if there is anything to do about it.
2. Heim joint rattling (due to ball in joint being pressed in). I'm leaning towards this being the cause of the rattling, especially after looking at some other threads on this today.
3. Damper heim joint body rattling as it pivots and hits the mount. I also am pretty sure this isn't it. I'll do some looking though.
Here is another thread about this issue on a the same style damper from a different company, and what they did to fix it.

I'll post more as I do more investigation, but it looks as if a tiny bit of rubber could be the solution. IF THIS IS REALLY BUGGING YOU, feel free to email NRG ( www.getnrg.com ) or call them to talk about it, if we get enough info on it, and create a solution, perhaps they can include it or at least mention it in the instructions.
EDIT!
I found this, had found it when doing my research a year ago, but forgot all about it.

that'll give you some good instructions on how to actually setup the damper.
ALSO, DON'T FORGET THAT THE HARDEST RUBBER PIECES ARE INSTALLED IN THE UNIT (RED), IF IT'S TOO ROUGH, SWAP OUT FOR THE SOFTER SPARE PIECES INCLUDED IN THE UNIT!!!
Here is one of their install DIY's, note the ORing is used here too...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Notes:
Proper use and fitment of the rubber O-ring helps dampen additional road noise or “feel” that can be transferred through the damper
assembly. The O-ring should be used between the Stiffy â„¢ heim joint and bracket for optimal noise suppression. Dynamat or other
damping materials, as used in aftermarket audio and in-car electronics industries, can also be used to provide further noise and
vibration damping when used between the brackets and the surface they mount on.</div>
When i install my new damper this weekend, I'll put some #11 or 12 Orings on there as the previous links suggested, and report back, looks like this is a fix (unless you can find those rubber filled heim joints). I'll also do a full DIY at this time for the install.
BTW, can someone get me pics of their car in that engine area, stock? I don't have my motor mount weight/damper on it anymore.

Wow, that's cool as heck. I'll be using a #14 o-ring soon. I'm about fed up with my car, it's been shaking for a while and getting worse, adding that damper made my car make all sorts of new noises. All of my problems should be resolved after a couple of weeks when I get my new clutch and add this little o-ring. This kerchunking/rattling by the damper is the worst noise of all.
Thanks REDZMAN. I really started hating my car when I fixed one issue (the engine roll) and created another. Hopefully this works well.

Take the damper into Home Despot with you, so you can make sure you get the right size, I'm going to do it this weekend if everyone is patient, the others say 11 or 12, and look like the same Heim joints.
I'll come back with an exact part number.

BTW, just a quick update, I let NRG know about the issues and that there are some fixes out there, and that a good DIY is needed, which I'll do this weekend, because the included one, honestly, sucks.
His answer was that they had had a few complaints on the rattling, and were told that there was a cheap/easy fix, and about the other problem and the fix, but no one ever volunteered more info on it. He'd like me to get the info, and the parts, forward one of each to him, and kits in the future (don't know how far), will have them included from the factory.
Have I mentioned how much I like them and KFX?
LOL
BTW, Steve, the president of NRG, is becoming a Genesis fan, if anyone is going to SEMA, go look him up at the NRG/ATW booth.

Steve = great guy, we need more of him in the industry.
I am finally ordering mine and when i install it, i'm going to work on the design a bit more to see if i get the same clanking noise. I'm pretty sure it probably a hole thing. the second thing could be either people are using too hard a bushing for their setup or there motor mounts are needing replaced.
