First, I tried to take a video of the problem, but my digital camera's video is too choppy to make anything out.

When I dry rev my engine, the taller bracket at the engine bends. I've got the looser bushings in there, but they didn't help much. I replaced my rollstop mounts about 6 months ago. I just got a new way more motor mount abusive clutch this week.

Is there any way to make this bending stop? I want it to be firmer.

I can't even see the damper moving at all, just the bracket flexing.

If a piece of metal flexes

And you don't want the metal doing the job the flexing metal is doing, to flex,

You have to make the metal stronger, by reinforcement, or replacement.

adding a triangular piece of each side of the upright bracket called a gusset will do the job.

you know, since our car are 7 to 10 years old, it makes me wonder just how many of us have weak side mounts on our engines?

why i am saying this is cause none of the other people that putting these on cars are doing it on newer vehicles or they just have better side mounts all together.

when I get my dampener installed I have two uprights: one gusseted and the other not. should order mine this coming week.

I was under the impression that the side mounts were there to provide a pivot point and the f/r were for rollstopping. hmmm.. So you think that the engine is sliding rather then pivoting on those mounts?

i'm going to try both gussets, nothing else. some parts are made to flex a bit, if not, you would be ripping out motor mounts . you want the motor to move a little, these will not fully stop that. without having really neato computers telling me just how much stress is being applied to certain things its kind of a tossup.

but truthfully, until you start to rip the bolts right out of the motor mount, i see no need in making it beefier. yeah, i made one beefier but will probably not end up using it.

Mine doesn't flex at all.

Oh, and the rattling problem is FIXED. I'm driving with it for a week or 2 then I'll post it all up, then NRG will include them in future kits when they can get them to the MFR.

I replaced all 4 motor mounts and am still having this issue. I can't see the damper moving at all when I push or pull on the engine, but I can see the bracket flexing.

I can't weld. Is there another fix, or can you make me a gusseted one for cash?
