thanks guys! now i know what to look for.

kspec doesn't offer 1.8l cams! if i get one, will i need to modify my ECU even though my tiburon is a 2.0 FX?

i have no problem with AEM CAI, it's just a bit common. do you guys know where i can get one?

i will keep my exhaust stock for now, just to keep things on the quiet side until i can get my engine tweeked in the spring.

col96fx, that looks mad sweet. thanks for the pics! they're awsome!!! must sound great too...

You don't need to do anything to the car except swap the cam over. It's that easy. I got mine from an auto wrecker & took about 20min to put in laugh.gif

The AEM is common for a reason. It's well priced and the best for your performance dollar.

alright guys, i should be expecting one in the mail then... it's a CAI with Bypass valves! I paid a lot for it but the cheapest i could find. it won't really sound as nice on an automatic, but for now any noise will do.

I will swap the cams to 1.8L as soon as I get my hands on one. Do you guys know what the difference between a 2.0 cam and 1.8 is? ...or what the swap does besides make a different sound?

you guys really helped me out with this. thanks. tongue.gif

The lift is higher and the duration is longer on the 1.8 cam, so it lets more air & fuel into the cylinders. The main diff I felt in my tib was smoother, quicker exceleration, but not really any more noise.

HKC, just for clarification...KSPEC Does sell the 1.8L cam. You would have to email Sales @kspec.com. same price as the XD/GT cam. How quick you get it depends on whether or not Mobis has it in stock.....They didnt when I ordered mine, but i still got it w/in 3 weeks.

Also you ONLY NEED THE INTAKE CAM. the exhuast cams are EXACTLY the same between the 2.0 and 1.8.

You don't need to email Kspec.com , just paypal $109 to sales @ kspec.com and put in the notes what it is you are wanting, in this case, a 1.8L Intake Cam.
