Looking into trading my '05 Prius for a new Sonata.

I do 99% highway driving and the sonata is a much more comfortable highway ride.

Am I crazy?

The Prius will get a little more gas mileage than the Sonata, but you will have ALOT more room in the Sonata for things, and its alot more classier looking than the Prius as well. So I guess it comes down to do you want good mileage, or lots of room and comfort? Plus, just as my own personal 2 cents...the Sonata isnt as gayflag.gif as the Prius. laugh.gif laugh.gif

The ONLY reasons to own a Prius are for gas mileage or to have a "green" image IMO. The Sonata V6 gets 28mpg hwy, the I4 gets 31mpg hwy. That's pretty phenomenal considering the size of the car but it will never match the Prius for gas mileage. The Sonata is a great car. It has 234hp with the V6 (the 2009 model gets bumped up to 249hp if you are interested and can wait a few months) and it is a really fun car to drive. The I4 makes an adequate 162hp also. The I4 is getting bumped up to 175hp for the 2009 model which is 3 more than the Tiburon V6.

Hybrids aren't meant to be driven on the highway like that. You save more when you do city driving , with the braking cycles it recharges the battery, etc. But I'm sure you know all this so I won't bore you with the theory.
