Hey guys, my names James and im curently own a 2001 tiburon.
Checking out the forums seeing what else is riding around. Trying to get some ideas on what i should do to add some power. So far ive had a problem with the 3rd gear grinding, my alternator wwent out, and right now im in the garage changing my power steering pump duw to the bearings going out. right now all the power i have unleashed is from a cai, underdrive pullys, plugs and wires, and thats about it. Looking for some more mods and projects that can be taken on in my garage. As for the interior, i have painted a few things, installed an oil pressure gauge and volt meter, racing seats, sony head with xplode speakers and 2 xplode 12", and thats about it.
Any sugestions would be appreciated.
It nice to have found such a great place where all the tibs are.

A full catback exhaust + headers will add a nice gain for you. Airram with spacers down the road would be a good upgrade aswell. After more work is done, you can play around with your a/f ratios using an SAFC2 or you might say screw N/A and boost. Much better in the long run. How much whp are you trying to achieve?

Not sure what a SAFC2 is, full catback and headers will be coming after this weeks paycheck. I would like to be sitting somewhere between 225 and 250 without damaging the pocket to much.
I was also curious for those of you who also have oil pressure readings, what do they sit at? I am using 10w-30 and i sit after warming up around 20psi at idle, but all the way up to 70-80 around reline. Is this normal?

225 whp n/a would be toooo expensive and it will make your car vry ifficult to daily drive, cause you will loose too much in the low-mid RPM range.
I see th only way to do it - turbo. Turbo kit would be couple of thousands $$$, depends on th parts (new or used... etc)

where did you put oil pressure probe? in the head or in the block?

its in the block, i split it through a t so i could still use the old sensor. 2-3 grand is fine, i just wasn't to sure a turbo would be the best thing to do. It seems like many of you have it done though, ill just have to find the right person to set it upfor me though. Thanks for the help guys

Please dont waste your money on those headers and catback yet then. wait, save, and turbo. If you have any questions or need a parts POST HERE FIRST. Also buy the book MAXIMUM BOOST. for about 3k you can have 250-300whp with certain parts and good tuning. SEARCH on this site for any questions.
