hey
ive gotten a 2000 tibby recently and its an awesome car.

car is totally stock but im wanting to do some work on it. my biggest question is how much hp i can get out of the tibby. Im trying to decide if i want to put money into my car or save and get a tuscan or some other car and spend my money making that fast. A friend of mine with an s14(240sx) was recomending i get another car when i can but im kinda fond of the tiburon so if i can make it fast ill stick with it. what do you guys suggest? what can i expect to get from the tiburon? if i keep the tiburon im going to get a new CAI and a new exaust manifold. after that i am looking to add a turbo or a supercharger. If i add a turbo/supercharger to the car how much hp(estimate) would i gain? ive been looking into this one
http://sharkracing.com/acecart/bin/shop.cg...;cate=010903000 but you guys must know a better/cheaper kit. im open to suggestions.

Welcome to the site, Please tell us about your vehical, yourself, and how you found the site. Don't forget pix. We love pix here.

Looks like a decent turbocharger. only one problem, there is no ECU tuning provided.

When you put a turbo on our cars it uses too much fuel. The ECU says it can't be right and leans out the A/F ratio. Then youu get detonation.

That's why they make standalones, piggybacks, etc..^^

How much HP you can get out of it? What kind of question is that? You can get as much HP as you want, it all depends on your time, knowledge, and money. There are tibs in korea with 1000 HP.

Anyway, please search around this site. There are reasons people do not like to buy things from sharkracing, most people will advise you not to.

This is an INTRODUCTION thread, please tell us a little about yourself, once you're familiar with tibs, THEN you should start asking questions about turbos and such...btw, do you have an automatic or a 5spd? And what are your goals? How much HP do you WANT? How much do you know about turbos? There is no bolt-on turbo kit for our cars. If you want to turbo, you're going to have to learn how they work, and do it yourself.

On another note, welcome to the site bro!

Please search before asking questions, and read the FAQ, otherwise you'll get flamed in a lot of your posts, not searching before asking is one of the very few anal rules we have around here.

haha im 16 just bought my tiburon. its 5 speed with everything stock in it. i need to replace my exhaust mainfold right now 02.gif dont even ask about it. i dont have any pictures of it right now. Im hoping to get it above 200 hp. the reason i am asking about how much hp i can get etc. is because i can go get an s13 240sx for about 2 grad and drift and make that good but i would rather keep the tiburon and race with that(i know tiburons cant drift) im just trying to figure out how much im going to have to spend to get to about 200-250 hp

exhaust manifold was a tsb, should be able to have it replaced for free. the hp potential of the beta motor is very high. depending on how much you put into it you can really accomplish anyhting you want. welcome to the site

Where in TX are you located? I'm in SA. If you're close enough, then you can check it out.

For 200whp, you're gonna need to build a turbo kit.

I'm starting to guess that the stock motor can withstand 300whp. I've been at 270hp with 268tq for quite a while now and I'm abusing it every day.
I would say that you need about $3k to put together a nice and reliable kit that would get you in the 12's. So start saving.

im in the dfw area. im hoping to have enough money in about 6 months or so. im thinking of buying the veilside body kit for my car...i have to get a new paint job so i might as well only paint it once and be done with it. normally i would make the car faster before i did the exterior but my paents might paint it for me.

Please don't get the veilside..it is so overplayed. I swear, everyone has the damn veilside kit. Plus, imo, it's more rice, it changes the look of the car and doesn't really flow with any of the body lines.
