Hello everybody,

I am a new face here. Name is Jae (the same way you read hair but change to J).
I own a Tiburon 1997 2.0 stock. Live in Bangkok, Thailand. A Right-hand side driver.

My RD is so standard. No mod except funky indash radio I took out.

How did I find RDtiburon.com?
-GOOGLE
I was having a problem with a waterpump. The town I currently stay doesn't have any trusted mechanic. So, I had to figure out the way to do it myself. Then I ran to this webpage by searching for DIY water pump and timing belt. That's where I discovered a lot of useful stuff here. Thanks to all of you :- fing02.gif

It happened like this. Engine stutter. I noticed the temp gauge was rising from bottom to top. Then I pulled over to avoid damage. All water dried out. I filled back the water and wait until engine cooled down. Re-start engine. The pump works fine. So I drove another 250km. When I stop the engine, the resevior tank is still full of water.

Next morning I found lots of water dripping underneath. I finally found that the pump leak. I didn't spot it at first because the engine was heated, all water was vaporized.

Know what, I used this car for 11 years(bought December1996),but never had the pump changed 200,000 km(around 120000miles). I should have changed it when I had timing belt replaced. Lesson learned...
