Hey I'm new here. I have been kind of skimming through the threads for the past couple of weeks, until I decided I should get in on the action. I posted very little in HyundaiPerformance but I tend to browse more than I actually post. I'm only 17, and I bought a 2000 Tiburon with about 56K miles on it about a month and a half ago. It is my first car.=) Yes, it's an automatic...but it's very well balanced, and fun/easy to drive. I'm placing an order some AEM CAI within a week or so, and hopefully that'll diminish some of the sluggish acceleration as experienced in first gear, along with that "shift-lag". I want my Tib performing at its optimum ability, and I have the potential to make this car my pride and joy, and just have fun modding my car.

Nice man, those wheels come with it when you bought it? what were you talking about the tranny fluid/rev limiter?

Previous owner wasn't regulating the tranny fluid which the people at the auto shop believe was responsible for the upshifting problems. The car wouldn't shift into 2nd gear until 7200+ RPM, which is far past the redline. Sure enough after the tranny fluid was replaced, the car began shifting at the redline where it is supposed to.

Welcome to the site. nice looking Tib. Just wanted to warn you that a lot of people on this site have had a lot of problems with Shark Racing. Personally, I bought clear corners from them and they got to me in a timely fashion but many guys on here will tell you not to buy from them. The choice is up to you. Just make sure you shop around because a lot of "Shark Racing" stuff actually belongs to other companies. Anyway, have fun wtih the Tiburon, its a very fun car to have.

Oh, and definately get the new taillights because they look a ton better than the stock ones and theyre not too expensive. Check eBay

Thanks. Is that true though? I'm surprised it is listed by so many people on CarDomain as one of their "favorite" links. Hmm.. well Shark Racing catback is the only catback system I have seen for an 00-01 Tiburon that will actually fit. The other exhausts are only suitable for the 97-99. There must be some kind of change about the 00-01 years. But I totally am with you on the tailights. I have seen quite a few, and they all look great. If you know of anyone else who produces a quality catback for the 2K Tiburon just let me know smile.gif

HVE makes an exhaust for our cars... however I've never heard of anyone buying it (WHY did no one mention these ppl on the exhaust listing?). They're headers (extractors as they call it) look very nice. Only problem is the damned weak dollar right now (they're prices are in Australian dollars).

ARK is making an exhaust... personally I think ARK makes quality products and just wants to be accepted into the community, others think they are just as bad as Shark Racing. They're GK products are very good though.

Or you could get a custom one done. Route many of us have taken, including me. All of my cars have custom exhausts.
