Can some one let me know what the wiring to the rear speakers should be?
I have changed out the old 6x9's for new ones which is really easy but the old speakers had a plug on the end that i had to remove. I then attached normal spade connections to in order to fit the new speaker terminals.
My problem is what colour is + and which is -

Use a multimeter or a signal tester. Attach the negative prong on the tester to a ground on the car..(most chassis bolts) and the other to each wire (NOT each speaker wire at the same time). The tester will tell you which is positive.
Also, ground is usually black or brown. I can't remember when I put my speaks in what color it was. Positive is usually red or white. If you have any other colors..um, then the koreans skimped on some parts.
Or you could guess
(i don't recommend it though)

What he said is somewhat true but not in speakers though. Factory speaker wires in cars are MANY different colors. The funny part about speaker wires is that most are not the common black, brown, red, or white. The is not a true standard use in the speaker wires. Like I said before, tell me what your colors are and I'll look it up for you.

Thanks for the reply's guys. I decided just to go ahead and install the speakers and got it wrong!? All that happens is the speakers are out of phase so cancell each other out ( So you end up with little or no bass and crap sound!)
I then swapped one connection round on one side and hey presto one sorted sound system
Once again cheers for the info

Just make sure by doing this that the front speakers are not now out of phase from the back ones. Fade to the back since you know they sound right begin fading to the front if you start to loose volume or they begin to break up then the fronts are out of phase. Even though the back might sound right they might be negative to positive and the fronts positive to positive.
