Time Alignment

How would you do something like that in a vehicle? You could just move speakers around in a building until there is good alignment to where people are but in a car you cant do that. So am I missing something?

The deck delays the signal to individual channels so the sound arrives at you ear at the same time. In a car, it's pretty much useless. There are too many variables inside the cabin of a car.

You can improve the soundstage with time alignment of the speakers on opposite sides of a car. For one occupant of the car. For the other occupant, it gets worse. There are digital signal processors that make this less complicated but, as was stated before, it is pretty much a wasted effort in a car.
