radioshack/circuit city sellls a handy lil thing that you can put in ur 12v + (positive) line that virtually reduces all interference...
when all else fails try one of these for like 10 or so bucks. i was having the same problem when my amp was connected str8 to the battery.

ok we identified the problem......i have a ground loop going on. i got a video of it ill get on my computer soon and show u guys. its funny to watch. i had like 4 ppl completely confused till one of us reliezed wat it was......anyways im getting a new headunit to fix the problem and hope to have it ordered at the end of the week. any suggestions on where to get cheap headunits that are still very good. i hear www.savinglots.com is a good place
You may not need a new hu. Some hu's these days are using 'ground loop isolators' built into the hu.The problem is, they don't always work well with amps of different brands.
What you should do is:
(1)Pull the hu
(2)Take a piece of wire and strip the ends
(3)Touch one end of the wire to one of the RCA ground shields
(4)Touch the other end of the wire to the chassis of the hu
If the noise goes away, then all you do is solder the wire onto the ground shield of the RCA comming out of the hu.Make sure you solder the wire in such a way that the RCA cable will still plug in okay.Take the other end of the wire and solder to the hu's chassis.Or you can crimp a small hoop connector on the wire, then secure it to one of the hu's chassis screws.
If the above works, the reason is because you are in effect by-passing the hu's internal ground loop isolator.
