well there is a metal cable that goes from the pedal through the firewall over the valve cover and to the throttle body

is it stuck open or stuck closed?

If that doesn't work & you have cruise control, try pulling the fuse for the cruise control. That happened in my Crown Victoria (Pedal stuck @ full throttle while going down the highway).

Hyundais aren't magically 100% immune to conditions that happen in other makes.

You still didn't answer whether the pedal is stuck open or closed. It makes a huge difference on what might be wrong with it.

ALso clean it. With it off use a small amount of brake cleaner just a spray and wipe the edges of the butterly fla and inside the TB itself. I had a BBTB a while back and it would stick closed on me sometime keeping me from smoothly driving.
