Ok so heres what Im looking for. I need some bass in the new Accent im picking up this week. The stock stereo is awesome but it needs subs. I want something quick hitting, good quality, and something that can also hit pretty hard. Im thinking a couple of nice 10s. That would be best to keep trunk space and perfect for cost and effectiveness I think.

Now, Im not a stereo noob. Ive wired and pieced together a good amount of systems. I can build my boxes and everything. I just want some good opinions on some good sub/amp combos that would fit what Im looking for. Ive always been favorable to Audiobahn but I am open to anything really. Would like to keep it to the more known brands and try to get the same brand sub(s) and amp. Let me know if you guys have some good combos! Thanks

What are you looking to spend? How many watts were you thinking?

I would recommend JL audio they are some of the best sounding subs I've heard IMO. If I had to buy subs right now thats what I would buy without even thinking about it.

Also kicker, MTX, and elemental designs are some other brands I've had experience with and are all good IMO.

I've heard good things about Audiobahn but never actually seen anything in person.

Without box and wiring im looking to spend a few hundred. Nothing crazy but something to give me a little bass and sound good.

Mn its all about application. To find a "good" sounding setup depends on your ears. To start make sure your sub maches the enclousre type. Then find an amp to properly power your sub for whatever range you like.

I've always heard that same brands (matching product) is a benefit, so maybe go to your local shop hear some stuff and get what you like. If you do decide to build your own enclosure hit me up before you do your build.

2 of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/JL-AUDIO-10W1V2-10-4-O...1QQcmdZViewItem

and this: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-JL-AUDIO-250-1-MON...1QQcmdZViewItem

Just an example but something like these would work nice for something simple and clean no crazy glass shattering bass lol.

If something like this is what you are looking for then any decent brand name sub and amp will do the job.

Mixing brands can be fine too if its not some super competition system.

I will be using Kenwood, Pyle, Rockford fosgate, sherwood, and polk equipment in my car and I don't mind mixing brands.

Definitely go and listen to different stuff and get what you like even if its 50 or 500.00 lol.

i've got to recommend elemental designs. good amps, good subs, for a good price as well.

I recommend the jl audio's also. I just got in a set of 8w3's in the 8ohm version so i could still retain the 4ohm load when i get my 500.5 jl audio amp.

125w per channel is definitely enough for me coming off the sub output on this amp as i prefer really tight, crisp bass. the GF has diamond audio 10's in her car (dweet's old car) and they are just too muddy for my tastes.

Does anyone know any thing about this sub: Elemental Designs 13Kv.2 D4

What kind of amp do I need for this?

I second Elemental designs. GREAT AMPS!!! I have a nine.1 powering two Alpine type R 10's and they hit. New alpine's are nice as well. Just put a Type R 12 in a buddies stratus coupe, just 1 in his trunk and DAMN! that thing is loud as hell. Powered by a 600 watt mono by alpine as well.
