The yellow IMO wouldn't put the right accent you are looking for with the green. Because the are two bright colors. If it was the dark green it would look fine. Personally I would find some different colors and put them on some old card board and hold them up and see which one would go best with the tropical green color. Also look for some color that is dark. The bright and dark contrast works really well IMO. BTW do you have leather or cloth interior?

like I posted above, the opposite of green is red; but it does get complicated when you have variants, like tropical green or mystic teal.

I would start with deeper reds or maroon and work around there. Pep Boys usually has a whole wall of touch up paint in different colors. Park where you can see your car out the window and then hold up the paint jars and compare. I did this when I was looking for touch up paint for my rims. The people inside wondered what I was doing, they thought I was crazy smile.gif

good luck,

Check out my link under this post to see pictures of my car. It's a 2K Tibby with yellow accents. Ok it's more than accents but you get the idea. I agree with you completely though. There is way to many green/white cars and you want to be different. I personally love the yellow on my car!http://www.teamsr.org/cgi-bin/ultima...&f=22&t=000357

Thanks for your support, guys!

guiltybydesign: I *currently* have cloth interior... But as I don't really like it, I'm planning on changing it for a leather one. Don't know yet if I'll just buy stock leather seats or if I'll go custom or something like that... I want leather anyway smile.gif

I'll tell you what the problem is... Red or Maroon would certainly looks good on the exterior of the car or in the engine bay, but would it looks good on the interior? I want to paint my console with that 2nd color, so if it's kinda ugly, well... you get the point smile.gif I first thought that yellow would looks cool on the interior, but maybe it would be too bright... but then again, a bright red would look odd too smile.gif

Haaaaa, choices... wink.gif

Y2KTIBLTD: Your car looks great, btw smile.gif Done any interior mods?

Yeah... Yellow ---> Purple

I like that combo!

Yeah, I have a purple tib and the yellow accents and highlights well. When I replace the hoses and have most of the engine down for turbo stuff, I'll going to get it all kinds of yellow in there. smile.gif

Calipers are yellow, although that color does get dirty fast.

I don't know... don't like purple too much, that's the problem smile.gif But hey, that's my problem smile.gif

Do you think red would look good? Take a look...

Argawal, if you paint the interior of your Tropic Green Tibby red, it will be like Christmas 365 days a year...For a preview of what the green and red would look like together, look at these two smilies:

IMO... (I went to school for graphic design and illustration btw)...the tropic green and red would not go well together. Mostly because the Tropic green is a "cool" color and red is a "warm" color.

Purple (like cybergreg's) would actually look pretty damn good with that tropic green color. The combo may be a bit wild for your tastes though.

Yellow would also look good, but you'd have to be careful to choose a "cooler" yellow color...kind of a pastel, (like the yellow Tibs) rather than a "warmer" yellow color.

If you like the wild ideas, a "cool" shade of Pink (think bubblegum color) would actually set that green off really well, though some guys don't dig on pink, that's up to you.

If you want to go for an "ocean/water"-type look, Cobalt blue would work well.

White looks good of course, as we've seen.

You could also go with the same tropic green color of your car, or for a bit of contrast, use the same color, but go a shade or two darker or lighter than the color of your car.

Just my $5 worth...

Sylvyr: thanks for your input. It's true that red wouldn't look good with Tropic Green... I just tried to imagine it while at work, and I was scared of the result! smile.gif

I didn't thought about Cobalt Blue... but damn, it seems like a good idea smile.gif I think it's gonna be either that, or yellow.

I wasn't suggesting true red with tropic green. In fact, I'm not really sure what color mystic green is. Could you post a pic?

I'm only suggesting the opposite compliment (which usually works well).
