My Subs Are Not Working
Alright so I took the subs out of my car to do the 2 seat conversion. After that was finished I went to put the subs back in my car and the Subs do not sound normal (or how the used to) they are not as loud as they used to be and they kind of sound like they are rattling inside of the box. I dont know why this is happening i did not touch any of the wiring and the light on my amp is still lit up so i know that there is power going to them. I'm not sure what exactl i going on so if you have any ideas on what it could be I would appreciate it. Thanks
Could be since you changed the space they are in. I know that when I had mine if I would lower the seats it would sound different then when my seats were up. As for the rattling could be the same principle, now you are just hearing more. Or something could of simply broke while moving them around.
It might just me a sign to not have subs at all and enjoy having less weight in the car lol. nana.gif

Make sure that your power wire isn't touching your remote or ground terminal at all, same goes for ground. We had a similar problem in my friends cavalier, and it just turned out the power was touching the ground terminal a little bit.
Ok here is what i suggest.
Are your subs dual voice coil/single voice coil?
I think you are probably running them off a Mono Amp.
Which means your amp probably only has 1 set of + - terminal.
1st thing to do is get a multimeter and measure the ohms on each sub.
Remember that the way you wire your subs will tell your amp how much power to put out.
Everytime you half the ohms of your sub you actually bump the power output up.
If you can give me a diagram of the way your subs are wired it would help..
Also try take an mp3 player/cd player and connect it straight to your amp. See what that does.
You might have to get a cable that has normal audio on 1 side and RCA's on the other.
Also did you by any chance fiddle with your ground wire?
I would also think that the ground wire is either too thin(i doubt cos it was a working system)
OR
Your ground wire is loose on the chassis or on the amp.
Same goes for power and remote wire. Make sure they on tight.
But my best bet is the woofer wirings are incorrect.
Wiring them in series will yield much lower power then in parallel.
But remember you MUST test with multimeter the ohm of each sub. Then you can also tell if they damaged or not.

thanks for all of the suggestions guys
i figured out what it was. when i put the floor in it knocked the ground wire loose from where i had it grounded
thanks for all of your help though
