Default Leather steering wheel care?

One thing i can't stand is when a leather wrapped steering wheel gets burnished and shiny. What can i do to preserve the matte finish and smooth feel of a new leather wrapped Momo steering wheel?

Not use it. Otherwise it will be polished with use.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the amount of oil in your hands too. I know my plastic gearknob gets shiny and dull periodically as I have varying things left on my hands when I get into the car.

My leather shift knob is smooth and polished (vs. textured and dull when new) and I really like the way it slides in my hand as I shift gears. I guess it's a matter of personal preference but I like it. The plastic steering wheel starting to fall apart, I don't like.
