Default How much powerful can the amp be than the subs

Alright so I bought two 12" kenwood subs rated at 400 watts rms each (SVC 4ohms) and bough a Belva amp rated at 1800 watts rms (4 ohms: 800 watts RMS x 1 chan.

2 ohms: 1260 watts RMS x 1 chan., 1 ohm: 1800 watts RMS x 1 chan.)

My question is can I use this amp with these subs or do I need to return one of them and buy another that has matching watts?

Generally, you won't overdrive a sub unless you crank the gain. What's the model number of the amp?

Unless it's grossly over powered, distortion kills subs, not power. Cobra is right, adjust your gain to your subs, don't just crank your gains.

Greetings, If I remember correctly if you wire the speakers together in series you will increase the OHMs while decreasing the amp output. So your 4 OHM speakers become an 8 OHM load decreasing the draw from the amp. This will work or if you so decide exchange the speakers or the amp for the correct load. General rule in acoustics is 1.5 x amp RMS to Speaker output. So an 800 watt RMS speaker is properly powered with an amp of 1200 watts.

Anyone, please correctly if I'm wrong. Thanks!
