Trying to finish some things up on my car, and for some reason my rear view mirror looks like it was ripped off, so their is a big chunk of glass missing. So in order to mount the mirror to the window, i need some sort of idea how to fill the glass in. Is there some sort of glass epoxy that i can use, or anything else that i could fill it in with then sand flat. The color doesnt matter since its black and hidden by the mount anyways.

Thanks guys

you need to fix that driver side door, i heard you close the door in one of your videos and it sounded like someone throwing pots and pans down stairs

ok... ill do that... but that still doesnt help my problem.

That really has nothing at all to do with this topic or the problem he has.

I would try what DTN was telling you to try in the shout box. Using some sort of injector to get an epoxy of some sort into the hole.

do you still have the rear view mirror with (hopefully) the chunk of glass that was ripped still on it?

i have the same problem in my Accent but no mirror...i was going to get a cheap mirror find somewhere and just put in underneath the chunk missing...you think that will work

01tibby 05-07-2009 11:41 AM

depends on the size of the chunk missing really. you want pretty much the entire area of that button to be bonded directly on the window.

i will take a pic to show you guys...

edit...

here is the chunk that i am missing

That's just a fisheye, looks like a small clamshell shaped piece of glass missing?

In that case, I would glue the mirror right over it, as-is.
